Hello there!

This is a brief summary of the rules for taking part in the Melbourne Hidden Gift hunt.

It’s really simple. We’ll hide a gift card somewhere in Melbourne. On Monday mornings, we’ll start tweeting the clues for how to find it. When you do find it, you tweet or email us so we can tell everyone else to stop looking. Then we write up the solution so everyone else goes “Bother! I thought it was there!”, and we hide a new gift for the next week.

We will hide the gift:

• Somewhere close to Public Transport
• Somewhere accessible 24/7
• Somewhere that requires no climbing, no digging and no trespassing.
• Not in a tree. (It might be under, behind or beside one though)
• Somewhere that’s not dangerous to get to. Caution might be necessary.
• On odd-numbered weeks, it’ll be in the CBD
• On even-numbered weeks (except those that are multiples of 10) it’ll be in Zone 1
• On weeks that are multiples of 10, we’ll tell you what the difference will be.
• If any of the clues are videos, then all the information will be available through either the name of the video, or the song or band name, or possibly song lyrics. That way, even if you can’t see the actual video, you’ll have the information.

Your job:

• Respect property. You’ll never need to cause damage to do this.
• Respect other people. Play nice.
• Use common sense. Be careful crossing roads, and in darker places at night.
• Have fun.
• Do whatever you like with the gift when you find it, because we all know that it’s the hunt that’s the important part.
• Tell your friends about us.
